Children's Ministry
Our church is passionate about serving families and enabling them to thrive in the city. City Church Kids hopes to equip and partner with families as you seek to invest in the spiritual wholeness of your children. We value the role of kids as a central part of our community and desire to create an environment where they feel known, loved, and respected.
At City Church, children of all ages are always welcome among us, for our entire service. We know that they wiggle, and we like a little noise! We are more fully the body of Christ when kids are in our midst. There is a table near the entrance with art supplies and fidget toys to help with busy minds and bodies. We also offer classes for kids to worship and learn together during the service, where they can be drawn into an engaging, enjoyable, and exciting encounter with the gospel in language familiar to them.
For Visitors: When you arrive, visit our children's ministry table located to the right just after you walk in. We have helpful volunteers who can answer your questions, help you sign your child in for a class and point you in the right direction. All of our teachers and volunteers have passed background checks prior to serving with children.
Nursing Little Ones: You are welcome to use the private nursing/cry room at the back of the Sanctuary, as needed.
0-4 Years Old: Childcare is provided during the entire service. All pre-school age children will have a short story and lesson time where they hear God’s good news in language especially for their age.
K-2nd Grade: This group will be learning through Godly Play, a creative approach to children’s spiritual formation that allows them to learn about God’s character, story, and church
3rd-5th Grade: This group will be working through Imaginative Prayer, a way of meeting the Lord by using our imagination to enter a Gospel story. The purpose of Imaginative Prayer is to meet Jesus face-to-face and grow in intimacy with Him.

Safety
Please know that we take the safety of our children very seriously at City Church of East Nashville. All of our nursery staff and childcare workers are trained volunteers who have been background-checked and will be going through Child Safety Training this fall. Our Child Safety Team has also developed a Child Safety & Abuse Policy, to help create and maintain a safe environment for your children.
